4th International Symposium 2025: 08–09 December 2025

The 4th International Symposium on “Quality Assurance in Engineering Education through Accreditation”, themed “Transforming Engineering Education through Implementing Enhanced Graduate Attributes”, was organized by BAETE, The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), on 08–09 December 2025 at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka.

Mr. Adilur Rahman Khan, Honorable Adviser for Housing and Public Works, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the inaugural session as Chief Guest, while the closing ceremony was graced by Ms. Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Honorable Adviser for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, as Chief Guest, and Mr. Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, as Special Guest.

Distinguished international leaders in engineering accreditation—including the Chairs of the Washington and Dublin Accords, the Deputy Chair of the Sydney Accord, senior representatives from ABET, and leading academics from the USA—participated in the symposium as Plenary and Keynote Speakers, both in person and virtually. The program comprised six plenary talks, seven keynote talks, and a poster session featuring seven presentations.

A total of 211 participants from academia and industry attended the symposium, including senior university administrators, faculty members from 25 higher education institutions, BAETE officials, Program Evaluators, and representatives from national and international industries. A cultural program followed by a dinner was organized to commemorate Bangladesh’s achievement of full signatory status of the Washington Accord.
