International Symposium-III:

BAETE, IEB organized an International Symposium on Quality Assurance in Engineering Education through Accreditation-III at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, Bangladesh during 11-12 May 2023 (https://symposium3.baetebangladesh.org/). The theme of the symposium-III was Education Imparts Competency for Sustainable Development.

Mr. M. A. Mannan M.P., Hon'ble Minister, Ministry of Planning and Mr. Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury M.P., Hon'ble Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education graced the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the Symposium.

About 329 participants attended the symposium, including 254 from academia, 54 from industry and 21 from the national policy makers. This included the vice chancellors, deans, program directors and senior faculty members from 47 educational institutions of higher learning offering engineering programs as well as program evaluators and members of different BAETE committees. In addition to the four keynote speakers from Bangladesh, significant deliberations of six foreign delegates from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey and Taiwan as keynote speakers were major attractions and motivations for the participants.

World Engineers Day Celebration:

The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) is committed to promote excellence in engineering education and the profession. On 4th March 2023, Prof. AFM Saiful Amin, the Acting Chairman of BAETE represented IEB in Sydney when the IEB Australia Chapter celebrated the World Engineers’ day last night. Special thanks shall remain to Em Prof Elizabeth Taylor, Officer of the Order of Australia (AO), Chair, Washington Accord and Deputy Chair, International Engineering Alliance, H.E. Mr. M. Allama Siddiki, the honorable High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Australia and Prof Olivia Mirza, President of Engineers Australia Sydney to grace the occasion with their very kind presence. The relentless effort of the IEB Australia Chapter was the key to organizing this very successful event on the land of Australia by representing Bangladesh.

9th Accreditation Decision Meeting (ADM):

The 9th Accreditation Decision Meeting (ADM) of the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) was held on 12 February 2023, Sunday at 4:30 P.M. in hybrid mode under the Chairmanship of Professor (Dr. Engr.) AFM Saiful Amin, Vice Chairman and Acting Chairman, BAETE. The members of the Board, Chair of the Quality Assurance Cell (QAC), Chair of the Sectoral Committee (SC) and Chair of the Evaluation Team (ET) were present in the meeting. Total 11 programs were reviewed for accreditation and renewal of accreditation in the meeting.

In addition, The members of the Washington Accord (WA) Verification Review Team (VRT) were joined the meeting via zoom to observe the proceedings.

Retraining Session for Program Evaluators on Accreditation Manual:

A Day-long Retraining Session for Program Evaluators on Accreditation Manual was conducted by BAETE resource persons on 03 December 2022 based on BAETE Accreditation Manual, Version 2.1, 2022. Total 49 participants along with 04 Resource Persons were attended in the session.

Interaction Session with Program Evaluators:

Forth interaction session with Program Evaluators of BAETE was conducted by BAETE resource persons on 12 November 2022 based on BAETE Accreditation Manual, Version 2.1. Total 08 participants were attended in the interation session.

Day-long Orientation for New Program Evaluators:

3rd "Day-long Hands-on Orientation for New Program Evaluators" was conducted by BAETE Resource Persons during 28-29 October 2022 based on 10 training modules. 37 Faculty Members from 11 public and private universities of Bangladesh were attended this orientation session.

Orientation and Discussion Sessions for Program Evaluators from Industry were conducted by BAETE during 21-22 October 2022 based on BAETE Manual, Version 2.1, 2022. 34 members from public and private industries, 4 members from SC & Board, and 4 resource persons from Industry and acdemia were attended this orientation session.

A total of 04 modules were covered in these orientation and discussion sessions, which are listed below:

Interaction Session with QAC and SC Members:

An in-person interaction session with the members of the Quality Assurance Cell (QAC) and Sectoral Committee (SC) was conducted by BAETE on 08 October 2022 based on BAETE Accreditation Manual, Version 2.1. Total 15 members of QAC and SC of BAETE including the resource persons were attended this interaction session.

Interaction Sessions with Program Evaluators:

Three interaction sessions with Program Evaluators of BAETE were conducted by BAETE resource persons during 11, 12 and 14 Septmeber 2022 based on BAETE Accreditation Manual, Version 2.1. Total 13 participants were attended on 11 September 2022,13 participants were attended on 12 September 2022 and 11 participants were attended on 14 September 2022 in these interation sessions.

Day-long Orientation for New Program Evaluators:

2nd "Day-long Hands-on Orientation for New Program Evaluators" was conducted by BAETE Resource Persons during 27-28 May 2022 based on 10 training modules. 67 Faculty Members from 31 public and private universities of Bangladesh were attended this orientation session.

Online Orientation and Discussion Session:

The third online orientation and discussion session on accreditation evaluation by Program Evaluators was conducted by BAETE Resource Persons based on 09 training modules and Accreditation Management System (AMS) during 10-13 October 2021. 51 participants, including Program Evaluators, Board Members, Sectoral Committee Members, Members of the Quality Assurance Cell and Members of Taskforces were attended in this sharing session.

Hybrid (In-person and on-line)Interaction Sessions for Program Evaluators:

BAETE organized two in-person interaction sessions at the InterContinental Hotel, Dhaka, on 21 August, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM and from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M and an on-line session on 22 August 2021. All applicable Covid-19 health and safety measures were met in accordance with national guidelines throughout the in-person sessions. 34 participants were attended the two in-person sessions held on 20 August 2021 and 57 participants were attended the on-line session held on 21 August 2021. The members of the Coordination Committee (CC) of BAETE were conducted both the in-person and on-line sessions.

Hybrid (In-person and on-line)Interaction Sessions for Program Evaluators:

BAETE modified the traditional physical visits (three-day physical visit) of the programs for accreditation and/or renewal of accreditation due to the ongoing pandemic, and adopt a hybrid approach (two-day online visit and a one-day physical visit) to limit in-person exposure times. Therefore, the usual program evaluation practice has taken on new dimensions. Under this prevailing situation, BAETE organized two in-person interaction sessions at the InterContinental Hotel, Dhaka, on 13 August, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM and from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and an on-line session on 14 August 2021. The members of the Coordination Committee (CC) of BAETE were conducted both the in-person sessions. All applicable Covid-19 health and safety measures were met in accordance with national guidelines throughout the in-person sessions. 30 participants were attended the in-person sessions held on 13 August 2021 and 49 participants were attended the on-line session held on 14 August 2021. The members of the Coordination Committee (CC) of BAETE were conducted both the in-person and on-line sessions.

Online Orientation and Discussion Session:

The second online orientation and discussion session on accreditation evaluation by Program Evaluators was conducted by BAETE Resource Persons based on 09 training modules during 08-11 March 2021. 76 participants, including Program Evaluators, Board Members, Sectoral Committee Members, Members of the Quality Assurance Cell and Members of Taskforces attended this training.

Online Orientation and Discussion Session:

The first online orientation and discussion session on accreditation evaluation by Program Evaluators was conducted by BAETE Resource Persons based on 09 modules during 08-11 February 2021. 78 participants, including Program Evaluators, Board Members, Sectoral Committee Members, Members of the Quality Assurance Cell and Members of Taskforces attended this online training.

A total of nine modules were covered in this workshop, which are listed below:

Modules 1 to 8 were developed by a six-member Taskforce, while the Taskforce of BAETE for Manual preparation designed the Module 9. Duration of the modules varied from 90 to 120 minutes.

International Symposium-II :

BAETE, IEB organized an International Symposium on Quality Assurance in Engineering Education through Accreditation-II, in association with the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) during 26-27 August 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Symposium was organized in virtual platform using online video conference system instead of holding it at the Hotel Intercontinental Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The symposium was organized to share the current state of our engineering education to the stakeholders and enhance collaboration among the participating member countries of the Washington Accord. A total of 447 participants from 23 countries attended the Symposium.

Vice chancellors, program leaders and senior faculty members from IHLs offering engineering programs in Bangladesh and BAETE program evaluators and members of different BAETE committees were also present at the symposium.

IES & BEM Joint Mentor's Visit, 2019:

Er. Prof. Dr. Kai Sang Lock, Washington Accord (WA) Mentor to BAETE from IES; Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Wan Hamidon Wan Badaruzzaman and Prof Ir. Dr. Hjh Siti Hawa Hamzah, Washington Accord (WA) mentor to BAETE from BEM, have visited BAETE, IEB, Bangladesh during 19-23 December 2019.

IES and BEM mentors of BAETE have attended a meeting with Taskforce for preparation of SAR. The mentors have also attended the meeting with the BAETE Chairman & Vice Chairman and Member Secretary. The Mentors have also attended in the 3rd Board meeting (Emergency] of BAETE as well as Exit meeting with the BAETE and IEB held on 24 January 2019.

The WA Mentors of BAETE from IES and BEM jointly prepared the Time line for BAETE with a view to becoming full signatory of Washington Accord by Jun 2021.

ABET Accreditation Visit, USA:

Prof. Dr. AFM Saiful Amin, Member Secretary, BAETE and Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka 1000, Bangladesh has participated in the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.,) accreditation visit at Northeastern University in Boston, USA as an International Observer from BAETE, IEB during 30 October – 08 November 2019.

Prof. Megat Visit, 2019:

Prof. Ir. Megat Johari bin Megat Mohd Noor, Chair, EAD, Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM) visited Bangladesh as foreign Resource Person to BAETE during 06–10 October 2019.

Prof. Megat conducted the following three training sessions-

(i) Orientation and Discussion Session for Program Evaluators from Industry on Drafting, Finalizing and Assessing Evaluation Team Onsite Visit Reports held on 7th October 2019, Monday at 4 p.m.–8 p.m., in the New Conference Centre of IEB Headquarters, Ramna, Dhaka 1000.

(ii) Orientation and Discussion Session for Program Evaluators from Academy on Drafting, Finalizing and Assessing Evaluation Team Onsite Visit Reports held on 8th October 2019, Tuesday at 4 p.m.–8 p.m., in the New Conference Centre of IEB Headquarters, Ramna, Dhaka 1000.

(iii) A day-long, hands-on orientation for new program evaluators (Group-B) held on 9th October 2019, Wednesday at 9 a.m.–5 p.m., in the Council Hall, 1st Floor, IEB Headquarters, Ramna, Dhaka 1000.

In addition, Prof. Megat joined in the discussion session with the Taskforce for preparation of SAR for application of full signatory status of Washington Accord in the forenoon (10am to 01pm) on 07 October 2019 and 08 October 2019.

Prof. Siti Hamzah and Ir. Liew Pao Joint Visit:

Prof. Ir. Dr. Hjh Siti Hawa Hamzah; and Ir. Liew Chia Pao, an Associate Director of the Engineering Accreditation Department of the Board of Engineers Malaysia visited Bangladesh as WA Mentor to BAETE and foreign Resource Person of BAETE respectively during 07–11 October 2019.

The activities as under:

(i) 12th day-long and hands-on orientation for outcome-based education held on 08 October 2019 (Tuesday) in the Council Hall, 1st Floor, IEB Headquarters, Ramna, Dhaka 1000.

(ii) A day-long, hands-on orientation for new program evaluators (Group-A) held on 9th October 2019, Wednesday at 9 a.m.–5 p.m., in the New Conference Centre, 3rd Floor, IEB Headquarters, Ramna, Dhaka 1000.

BEM Mentor Visit, 2019:

A Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Wan Hamidon Wan Badaruzzaman of Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM) visited Bangladesh as Washington Accord Mentor to BAETE during 23–28 September 2019.

Prof. Wan Badaruzzaman attended the meeting with the BAETE Vice chairman and Member Secretary of Board. He joined with the Taskforce for preparation of SAR for application of full signatory status of Washington Accord during 24-25 September 2019. He also joined in the 62nd Board Meeting of BAETE on 26 September 2019 as a guest of special invitation. He also joined a dinner with Chairman and Member Secretary of BAETE at Hotel InterContinental on 23 September 2019.

ET Training, 2019:

A Orientation and Discussion Session for Drafting, Finalizing and Assessing Evaluation Team Onsite Visit Reports on 5 August 2019 at Central Council Hall, IEB Headquarters, Dhaka 1000. Prof. Dr. Engr. Anisul Haque, Hon’ble Board member of BAETE was conducted the orientation program. Total 36 participants of 10 engineering programs from 13 private and 05 public universities having engineering background were attended in the orientation and discussion session. National Professor Dr. Engr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury was attended the closing ceremony of the program. Certificates have been given to all participants after end of the workshop/orientation session.

Prof. Siti Hamzah and Ir. Liew Pao Joint Visit:

Two day-long, hands-on "Workshop/Orientation on Outcomes-based Education (OBE)" have been organized by BAETE, IEB on 18 June 2019 and 19 June 2019. The workshop/orientation sessions have been conducted by Prof. Ir. Dr. Hjh Siti Hawa Hamzah and Ir. Dr. Liew Chia Pao, Associate Directors of the Engineering Accreditation, Department (EAD) of Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), through lectures, case studies/small group discussions, presentations and Q&A sessions in an active-leaning environment. Total 132 (66+66) participants of 20 engineering programs from 28 private and 07 public universities having engineering background were attended in the workshop/orientation session. National Professor Dr. Engr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury was attended the closing ceremony of the program. Certificates have been given to all participants after end of the workshop/orientation session each day.

IEAM-2019, Hong Kong, China Visit:

A delegation from BAETE, Bangladesh participated in IEAM 2019 at Hong Kong, China during 09-13 June 2019. BAETE was represented by Prof. Dr. Engr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Chairman, BAETE and Prof. Dr. Engr. A.F.M. Saiful Amin, Member Secretary, BAETE. In addition, Engr. Khandaker Manjur Morshed, Honorary General Secretary (HGS), IEB and Member (Ex-officio) of BAETE Board, also joined the delegation.

International Symposium -2019:

An "International Symposium on Quality Assurance in Engineering Education through Accreditation" was organized by the BAETE and IEB during 13-14 March 2019 at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in Dhaka, Bangladesh to further strengthen the activities of the BAETE and familiarize the status of engineering education and practice in Bangladesh. The event also had an optional day on 15 March 2019, during which interested foreign delegates were invited to visit some of the megaprojects that the Government of Bangladesh is now implementing. More than 300 participants attended the symposium, including 176 from academia, 105 from industry and 24 from the national policy makers. This included the vice chancellors, deans, program directors and senior faculty members from educational institutions of higher learning offering engineering programs in Bangladesh as well as program evaluators and members of different BAETE committees. Hon'ble Minister for Science and Technology graced the Opening Ceremony of the Symposium. Honb'le Minister for Education presented her speech at the Special Plenary Session. Honb'le Minister for Industry made his concluding remarks at the Concluding Ceremony. Presence of the three full ministers of the cabinet of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in the symposium was significant to renew and refresh the recognition of BAETE of IEB once again from the government in establishing an internationally benchmarked accreditation system for engineering education in Bangladesh, the jurisdiction of BAETE, IEB. In addition to the four keynote/invited speakers from Bangladesh, the important presence and significant deliberations of 11 foreign delegates from Australia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and Nepal in the symposium as keynote and invited speakers were major attractions and motivations for the distinguished participants of Bangladesh. Participants from different programs at 51 higher learning institutions attended the symposium, including from 8 public, 42 private and 1 international institution. They had the opportunity to interact with the eminent personalities from the signatories of the WA and vice versa.

Dr. Wan Hamidon Wan Badaruzzaman and Prof Ir. Dr. Hjh Siti Hawa Hamzah, Washington Accord (WA) mentor to BAETE from BEM, have also visited BAETE, IEB, Bangladesh during 22-26 January 2019.

The IES mentor has attended to an accreditation visit of Computer Engineering (CoE) program at American International University -Bangladesh (AIUB), Kuratoli, Khilkhet, Dhaka 1229, Bangladesh during 20-22 January 2019.

IES and BEM mentors of BAETE also visited the following programs on 24 January 2019:

(2.) Prof. Wan Badaruzzaman has visited the CE and EEE program of East West University, Aftabnagar, Dhaka

The IES and BEM mentors have attended the meeting with the BAETE Chairman & Vice Chairman and Member Secretary. The Mentors have also attended the 1st Accreditation Decision Meeting (ADM) and 58th Board Meeting of BAETE held on 24 January 2019. The mentors have also joined the exit meeting with the BAETE and IEB.

IES and BEM Joint Mentor’s Visit, 2018:

Er. Prof. Dr. Kai Sang Lock, Washington Accord (WA) Mentor to BAETE & BPERB from IES and Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Wan Hamidon Wan Badaruzzaman, Washington Accord (WA) mentor to BAETE from BEM, have visited BAETE, IEB, Bangladesh during 27 April 2018 – 04 May 2018.

Prof. Lock and Prof. Badaruzzaman have attended the meeting with the BAETE Chairman & Vice Chairman and Member Secretary. The Mentors have also attended the meeting with the Coordination Committee of BAETE to review the Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) submitted by the Public and Private Universities of Bangladesh for Outcomes-based Accreditation (OBA).The IES and BEM mentors have conducted an Experience Sharing Session with Program Evaluators of BAETE. Members of the Board, Sectoral Committee, Taskforce, Coordination Committee also attended in the Experience Sharing Session. In addition, Prof. Dr. Anisul Haque and Prof. Dr. Salekul Islam have also attended the sharing session as Resource Persons of BAETE.

Prof. Lock has also joined the meeting with Hon’ble President, Honorary General Secretary and other Executive Office Bearers of IEB; Chairman & Vice-Chairman of BPERB and Registrar of BAETE & BPERB.

IEAM-2018, London, UK Visit:

A delegation from BAETE, Bangladesh participated in IEAM 2018 at London, UK during 24-29 June 2018. BAETE was represented by Prof. Dr. Engr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Chairman, BAETE and Prof. Dr. Engr. A.F.M. Saiful Amin, Member Secretary, BAETE. In addition, Engr. Khandaker Manjur Morshed, Honorary General Secretary, IEB and Board Member, BAETE also joined the delegation.

BEM Mentor’s Visit:

Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Wan Hamidon Wan Badaruzzaman and Prof. Ir. Dr. Hjh Siti Hawa Hamzah of Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM) visited Bangladesh as Washington Accord Mentors to BAETE during 29 October – 06 November, 2016.

They attended the meeting with the BAETE Chairman & Board members, meeting with the Taskforce on new draft of OBA manual, attended to anAccreditation visit at North South University (NSU) and conducted a Workshop on Outcomes Based Education (OBE) for Faculty and Program Directors of different private and public universities.

Retreat Visit:

BAETE organized a Retreat Visit to provide Hands-On-Training for Course Mapping at Program Levelsat BRAC-CDM, Rajendrapur, Gazipur during 08-11 December 2016.Prof Dato' Ir. Dr. Wan Hamidon Wan Badaruzzaman and Prof Ir. Dr. Hjh Siti Hawa Hamzah of BEM have attended as Resource Person/ Trainers. Selected fifteen participants from different programs of different universities have attended in the hands-on training.

Visit of Prof. Muhammad H. Rashid:

Prof. Muhammad H. Rashid,Florida Polytechnic University,Lakeland,FL has visited BAETE as Resource person in last December 2016. Prof. Rashid has conducted two Workshops on Engineering Accreditation Issues for the Faculty members and Program Directors on 19&20 December 2016.

Visit of Prof. Dr. Er. Kai Sang Lock:

Prof. Dr. Er. Kai Sang Lock, Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) has visited Bangladesh as Washington Accord Mentor to BAETE during 31 December 2016 – 09 January 2017. Prof. Lock attended the meeting with the BAETE Chairman & Board members, meeting with the Taskforce on new draft of OBA manual, meeting with the Stakeholders, visited BUET and conducted training session on preparation for outcomes-based accreditation for Faculty, Program Directors & Evidence-based onsite assessment during accreditation visits for Program Evaluators. He has also attended meeting with IEB President & Honorary General Secretary, BPERB Chairman & Board members and Registrar of BPERB.

Presentation on New OBA Manual:

Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), Bangladesh has enacted a new Manual for Outcome-based Accreditation (OBA) of Undergraduate Engineering Degree Programs. A presentation on this new OBA Manual was held on 18 April 2017 at ERC Conference Room, IEB Headquarters, Ramna, Dhaka-1000. Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury was chair in the program. The VC, Pro-VCs, Deans, Program Heads, Program Evaluators, Members of the Sectoral Committee, Members of the IQAC, Board Members of BAETE & BPERB, Executive Members of IEB, and other Stakeholders attended the program. The new OBA Manual has taken the model documents followed by neighboring countries and other full signatories of Washington Accord (WA) into account. The salient features of the OBA Manual and Outcome Based Education (OBE) was highlighted in the presentation session. The new manual will be effective for considering all accreditation applications received after 30th June 2017.

IEAM-2017, Alaska, USA Visit:

A delegation from BAETE, Bangladesh participated in IEAM 2017 at Alaska, USA during 18-23 June 2017. BAETE was represented by Prof. Dr. Engr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Chairman, BAETE and Prof. Dr. Engr. A.F.M. Saiful Amin, Member Secretary, BAETE. In addition, Engr. Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan, President, IEB, and Prof. Dr. Engr. S. M. Nazrul Islam, Chairman, BPERB and Member (Ex-officio) of BAETE Board, also joined the delegation.

Malaysia Visit:

In accordance with the suggestions of BEM mentors, a delegation from BAETE, Bangladesh participated as Observer in Accreditation Visit at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Penang, Malaysia during 16-17 May 2017. BAETE was represented by Prof. Dr. Sarwar Jahan Md. Yasin, Chairman, Taskforce; Prof. Dr. Anisul Haque, Member, BAETE & Member, Taskforce; Prof. Dr. AFM Saiful Amin, Member Secretary, BAETE & Member, Taskforce and Prof. Dr. Hasan Sarwar, Member, BAETE & Member, Taskforce

The same delegation also participated in the EAC Accreditation Decision Meeting (ADM) at Dorsett Grand Subang Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia on 26 July 2017.

NEC Delegates Visits:

A 3-member team of Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) namely Mr. Satya Narayan Shah, Chairperson of NEC, Mr. Khem Raj Joshi, Registrar of NEC and Mrs. Kirsteen Merrilees, ICE representative in Nepal visited BAETE on 20 July 2017. Mr. I.A. Khan OBE, ICE representative in Bangladesh also accompanied the team.

The NEC team joined a meeting with Prof. Dr. Engr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Chairman, BAETE and Prof. Dr. Engr. A.F.M. Saiful Amin, Member Secretary, BAETE and exchanged the ideas and views for taking BAETE’s model towards professional recognition in IEA. Engr. Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan, President, IEB, and Prof. Dr. Engr. S. M. Nazrul Islam, Chairman, BPERB and Member (Ex-officio) of BAETE Board, also joined the meeting.

IES Mentor’s Visit:

Er. Prof. Dr. Kai Sang Lock, Past Chairman, Engineering Accreditation Board, IES; Professor, Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), has visited Bangladesh as Washington Accord Mentor to BAETE and BPERB during 14-21 October 2017.

Prof. Lock attended the meeting with the BAETE Chairman & Board members, meeting with the Stakeholders; Observed an accreditation visit at MIST, visited BUET and attended a meeting with Vice Chancellor, BUET and Director, IQAC, BUET and conducted a seminar for Faculty members at BUET; conducted a workshop/training session on preparation for outcomes-based accreditation for Faculty, Program Directors of different public and private universities & also conducted another workshop/sharing session for Program Evaluators of BAETE. He has also attended the meeting with IEB President & Honorary General Secretary; BPERB Chairman, Board members, Stakeholders and Registrar.

BEM Mentor’s Visit:

Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Wan Hamidon Wan Badaruzzaman and Prof. Ir. Dr. Hjh Siti Hawa Hamzah of Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM) visited Bangladesh as Washington Accord Mentors to BAETE during 08–14 December, 2017.

Prof. Wan and Prof. Siti attended the meeting with the BAETE Chairman, Board members & Sectoral Committee members; observed an accreditation visit at Stamford University of Bangladesh (SUB) and conducted a workshop on preparation of Outcomes-based Accreditation (OBA) for Faculty and Program Directors of different public and private universities. They also conducted another workshop/sharing session for Program Evaluators of BAETE.

Experience Sharing Session for Program Evaluators (EP Training):

Two experience sharing sessions for program evaluators (EP Training) have been organized by BAETE on 15 February 2018. The program evaluators are divided into two groups: Group-A and Group-B. The Board Members, Sectoral Committee Members The Chairpersons of the Visiting/Evaluation Team and Member of the Visiting/Evaluation Team who has already visited multiple programs are invited in Group-A. All other members of the Visiting/Evaluation Team and Panel Evaluators are invited in Group-B.

IES, Singapore Visit:

A delegation from BAETE, Bangladesh participated as Observer in Accreditation Visit at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore during 20-21 March 2018 along with pre-visit and exit meeting. BAETE was represented by Prof. Dr. Sohel Rahman, Chairperson, Sectoral Committee for CSE and Prof. Dr. Salekul Islamn, Member, Taskforce, BAETE.
