Prof. Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain is the Vice Chancellor (Additional-Charge) of the Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET). He has long experience in teaching and various administrative roles.

Prof. Hossain graduated from Rajshahi University, Rajshahi in 1986, with a BSc in Applied Physics & Electronics. He obtained M.Sc in Applied Physics & Electronics degree in 1987 from the same institution. Prof. Hossain achieved M. Phil. degree in Applied Physics & Electronics in 2003 from Rajshahi University and Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics & Electronic Engineering in 2009 from the same institution.

Prof. Hossain started his carrier in Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) as Lacturer in 1994 and promoted as Assistant Professor in 19999; Associate Professor in 2009; Professor in 2011. Prof. Hossain aolso worked as Assistant Provost from 1999-2009 and Provost from 2012-2013. He also worked as the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Humanities, RUET from 2021 to Present and Head of the Department of Physics, RUET, Rajshahi from 2015-2017 and 2021 to Present. He also worked as a member and expert member of different committees, boards, and bodies.
